Grow As You AreÂ
Grow As You Are is a parent-focused education and coaching practice grounded in one core belief:
Full acceptance and meaningful growth are not opposites.
They are meant to exist together.
Grow As You Are supports families raising autistic and neurodivergent children, teens, and young adults who want to move forward thoughtfully — without forcing change, abandoning support, or losing connection along the way.
This work is evidence-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and deeply practical. It’s designed to help parents think more clearly, respond more intentionally, and make decisions that support real growth over time — growth that fits the individual, not a checklist or timeline.
Our Philosophy
We start from 100% acceptance — of neurotype, capacity, needs, and current functioning.
From there, we ask a different set of questions than most parenting advice offers:
What kind of growth actually serves this person?
What support builds confidence rather than dependence?
How do we scaffold skills without overwhelming the nervous system?
How do we zoom out, clarify the bigger goals, and choose approaches that actually fit those goals?
How do parents lead change without control, pressure, or fear?
This work is not about fixing, rushing, or “catching up.”
It’s about aligned growth — growth that respects capacity, preserves dignity, and builds trust over time.
What We Create
Grow As You Are develops educational resources, courses, and practical tools for parents, including:
• Structured parent courses and coaching programs
• Executive functioning supports and planning tools
• Communication frameworks and scripts
• Capacity-informed approaches to skill-building
• Adaptable, real-world resources families can return to over time
While current offerings focus on parents of autistic teens and young adults, Grow As You Are is intentionally designed to expand — supporting families across different stages, needs, and contexts, while remaining grounded in the same guiding principles.
SPACE to Grow
SPACE to Grow is the first flagship course within Grow As You Are.
It offers parents a clear, supportive framework for understanding capacity, shifting support thoughtfully, and fostering growth without burnout or power struggles. The course integrates evidence-informed principles from the SPACE model with neurodiversity-affirming, developmentally sensitive tools parents can use again and again as circumstances change.
SPACE to Grow reflects the heart of Grow As You Are: clear thinking, steady pacing, and growth that fits real life.

About Dr. Siena Whitham
Hi, I’m Dr. Siena Whitham — licensed psychologist, certified SPACE provider, and founder of Grow As You Are.
I work with families raising autistic and otherwise neurodivergent children, teens, and young adults — particularly those navigating anxiety, burnout, demand avoidance, executive functioning challenges, and complex developmental profiles.
I hold a Ph.D. in Human Development and Psychology from UCLA, where I trained at the Center for Autism Research and Treatment. For over 15 years, my work has focused on autism assessment, anxiety and OCD treatment, and parent-based interventions that support neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan.
I’m also a certified provider of SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), and I thoughtfully adapt this evidence-informed, parent-focused framework to meet the needs of neurodivergent families — integrating it with capacity-aware, neurodiversity-affirming approaches to growth and skill-building.
I’m also a parent in a neurodiverse family. That lived experience deeply informs my work.
Because in real life, growth doesn’t come from pressure or perfection.
It comes from clarity, connection, and small, intentional steps taken over time.
And yes — like many of the families I support, our household relies on routine, humor, and the occasional movie night to balance the seriousness of this work.
